SOLD OUT! BRAugust 2025 invitation to learn how to make your own lingerie…

BRAugust is the high-season of the lingerie making community and it’s so incredibly fun to see! Lingerie makers across the world of sewing dive into new patterns, fabulous fabrics and take time to create a new wardrobe the month of August. There’s giveaways each week and opportunity to meet and learn from members of the lingerie making community world-wide.

BRAugust will also present an invitation for beginners to jump into their journey of bra making…an intro class for anyone with questions, anyone who has tried in the past and need a reason to pick it back up, anyone who always says: I’ve always wanted to make a bra, or a panty…but I just don’t know where to start?

This year BRAugust has you covered with a Free Virtual/Zoom Intro Session to Bra Making

Q&A
Feel free to email with any specific questions you have: nikkig@sewingmystyle.com

Q: can I participate if I’m new to sewing?
A: yes you can, if you at least have a command of the functions of your sewing machine and maybe you’ve inserted a sleeve into a garment (example of experience)

Q: if I can’t attend all sessions, will they be recorded and shared?
A: yes, sessions will be recorded and shared via email

Q: what supplies do I need to make a bra?
A: the Beginner Bra Bundle will have all fabrics and elastics - you will also need sewing needles, regular thread, scissors/rotary cutter, seam ripper - and check your sewing machine to ensure it has a zig-zag stitch

Q:
can I make a bra without a wire?
A: yes, there are many bra patterns that are designed without an underwire and have great fit

Q: how long does it take to make a bra?
A: a wired bra can be made in 2-3 hours depending on the complexity of the design

Q: how do I achieve the perfect fit?
A: over time as you continue to make practice bras, you will work on fit adjustments and how to customize your bra for the comfortable desired fit

Thanks for the love,
See you August 7

Nikki
